Detaching the Extender Arm Can Be Tricky
One of the challenges with the Cevaton S6 is detaching the extender arm. While it holds the monitors securely, removing the arm requires a bit of effort, often taking several minutes of pulling. This can be frustrating, especially if you need to make adjustments quickly or frequently.
Inconvenient Port Placement
The positioning of the ports on the back of the monitors is not ideal. While the setup aims to keep cables flush against the back, it can be difficult to connect and disconnect cables, especially in tight spaces. This placement makes it less convenient to quickly switch out cables or troubleshoot connectivity issues.
Potential Compatibility Issues

Compact With Case
Why not just use regular monitors with my laptop? They’re bulky, don’t stack neatly, and lack portability. Even before setting up the Cevaton S6 15.6″ Laptop Triple Screen Extender, I was impressed by its compact, foldable design. It fits neatly into a carrying case only slightly larger than the screens themselves, with a convenient front pouch for storing cables.
The two 15.6″ screens securely connect, keeping them protected. The arms attach seamlessly, folding neatly behind one of the monitors before everything slides compactly into the carrying case.
While a zipper or Velcro latch on the top of the case would be a nice addition, I appreciate having a case included at all. Too often, gadgets come with all their components loosely packed in a box, forcing you to purchase a separate case for proper storage.

The most efficient connection method involves two full-featured USB-C ports, allowing each monitor to connect directly to your laptop. If your laptop only has one USB-C port, you can connect one monitor via USB-C and use a combination of a USB-A cable and an HDMI cable for the second monitor.
Since my laptop lacks USB-C ports, I had to get a bit creative. With a few adapters and the included cables, I was able to successfully set up both monitors without any issues.

However, compatibility depends on the ports available on your laptop. While the extender supports Windows, macOS, PS4, Xbox, and Switch, it does not work with MacBooks featuring M1, M2, or M3 chips, as stated in the product description.

Once I secured the screens, I simply extended the center of the stand, slid my laptop into position, and was ready to start connecting cables.

Inconvenient Port Placement
I’ll be honest, I’m not a fan of the port placement on the back of the monitors. It can be tricky to slide the cables into position, especially since the ports are not easily visible. While I understand the reasoning behind this design—to keep the cables flush against the back for a cleaner look—it still makes it challenging to see the ports or connect the cables smoothly.

Quick Troubleshooting
Once everything is connected, the monitors should power up as long as your laptop is on. During my first setup, one monitor displayed a “no signal” message, but I quickly resolved the issue by swapping the cables. If either screen doesn’t power on, simply slide the power switch on the back of the monitor to get it working.

Flexible Setup, But a Stubborn Extender Arm
One of the things I love about the Cevaton S6 15.6″ Laptop Triple Screen Extender is the option to use just one screen if needed. You can easily connect a single monitor and rotate it between portrait and landscape mode. Additionally, you can attach the extender arm to elevate the screen for better visibility.
However, before you get too excited about the multiple configurations, I should warn you about the extender arm. It doesn’t detach easily. While it’s great that the arm holds the screen securely, it took me about five minutes of pulling to release it. I honestly thought I might break it. In contrast, all the other components disconnect with a simple, firm pull. But the extender arm definitely gave me some trouble.
